Our AimsBUILDING CONFIDENCE IN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
AMAZE is a project working to turn the Additive Manufacturing of metallic components into a mainstream industrial process.
This project promotes new innovations in robotic automation, adaptronics, actuator systems, in-situ sensing, in-process monitoring, novel post-processing and large-scale AM equipment.
The primary goal of the project is to rapidly produce large defect-free metallic components up to 2 metres in size, ideally with zero waste, for use in the following high-tech sectors: tooling, aerospace, automotive, space and energy.
Scientifically, the critical links between alloy composition, powder/wire production, additive processing, micro-structural evolution, defect formation and the final properties of metallic AM parts will be examined and understood.
AMAZE will create a unique multi-sector production infrastructure, unparalleled in the world.
AMAZE is a collaboration of 26 leading institutions in European academia, research and industry – the largest and most ambitious group ever assembled on the topic of Additive Manufacturing (AM).
